（5）Peter一听到消息就兴奋地喊起来。As soon as Peter heard it,he cried out excitedly.

 

as…as 和……一样 & （not） as/ so…as ……不如……

 

（1）这部电影和那部电影一样有趣。 This film is as interesting as that movie.

（2） Peter和Tom一样高。 Peter is as tall as Tom.

（3）这本书不如那本书有趣。 This book is not so interesting as that book.

（4）第二课不如第三课难。  Lesson 2 is not so difficult as Lesson 3.

（5）听磁带和看英语电影一样重要。Listening to tapes is as important as watching English-language movies.

 

as … as possible  尽可能地……

 

（1）我们在英语课上应该尽可能地多讲英语。We should speak English as much as possible in English classes.

（2）你能不能尽可能慢一些读这个句子？Could you please read the sentence as slowly as possible？

（3）请尽可能快地发邮件给我。Please send me the e-mail as soon as possible.

（4）这项工作必须尽快完成。 The work must be finished as soon as possible.

（5）当你感冒的时候，你应该喝尽可能多的水。When you have a cold,you should drink as much water as possible.

 

ask sb for sth……  向某人要……

 

（1）当你迷路时，你可以向警察需求帮助。When you get lost, you can ask the police for help.

（2）一些学生经常向父母要钱去买零食。Some students often ask their parents for money to buy snacks.

（3）他向父母要一辆自行车作为生日礼物。He asked his parents for a bike as his birthday gift.

（4）我们向成人寻求帮助是明智的做法。It's wise for us to ask adults for help.

（2）昨晚晚餐后我妈妈让我洗的碗。My mother asked me to do the dishes after dinner yesterday evening.

（3）昨天我们老师告诉我们应该如何用英汉字典。Our teacher told us how to use English-Chinese dictionary yesterday.

（4）我妈妈经常要我在周末帮助她做家务。My mother often asks me to help her with the housework on weekends.

（5）Tom的爸爸经常告诉Tom应该如何正确面对问题。Tom's father often tells Tom how to deal with the problems in the correct way.

 

ask/tell sb. not to do sth. 请/告诉某人不做某事

 

（1）我妈妈经常告诉我不要花费太多时间玩电脑游戏。My mother often tells me not to spend so much time in playing computer games.

（2）刚才警察告诉孩子们不要在街上踢足球。The police told the children not to play soccer in street just now.

（3）老师总是告诉学生们不要迟到。The teacher always asks the students not to be late for class.

（4）Peter的妈妈经常告诉Peter上课不要说话。Peter's mother often tells Peter not to talk in class.

（5）我们老师经常告诉我们在面对问题时不要放弃。Our teacher often tells us not to give up when we face problems.

 

be afraid of doing sth. / that+从句 担心（某事可能产生的后果）

 

（1）学生们为考试担心不足为奇。It's no surprise that students are afraid of having exams.

（2）她担心会吵醒正在熟睡的孩子。She is afraid of waking up the sleeping baby.

（3）不要担心犯错误。 Don't be afraid of making mistakes.

（4）别担心，没什么可怕的。 Don't worry. There's nothing to be afraid of.

（5）她担心她会迟到。She is afraid that she will be late for class.

 

be afraid to do sth. 害怕去/不敢去做某事
