Hsuncius ·To Lord
It is not a fable to win the world with a land of thirty square miles. Its difficulty lies in whether its lord knows how. To win the world does not mean other states follow him with their land, but that his methods are good enough to unite all. If a lord’s people are united, how can they leave their land for another? So even though it’s just a thirty square miles of territory, its ranks and costumes are enough to hold all sages in the world and its posts and titles are enough to hold all talents in the world. According to its original statutes, choosing the good ones is also enough to submit the greedy ones. If the sages are united, the able are appointed and the greedy are submitted, all the world will be his. There is nothing beyond this. So i t is enough to collect all power with thirty square square miles of land; it is possible to get all people with credibility and benevolence. With the combination of the two, the world can be won.
