Four Seasons and Health • Asking Roots• Lord Yellow's Insides
Shade and Shine in the four seasons are the roots of all things. Therefore, a saint maintains his Shine in spring and summer and his Shade in autumn and winter. As he follows the nature of life, he goes up and down with the process of growth and maturation; if he goes athwart the nature of life, he will destroy his vitality and harm his integrity. Therefore, the four seasons of Shade and Shine are the beginning and end of everything, and the root of death and life. Going against them, one will succumb to calamities; following them, one will not have maladies. Such is called the Word. The Word a saint practices but a moron breaches. Following Shade and Shine, one lives; going against them, one dies. Following them, there will be good order; going against them, there will be chaos. Changing good order into chaos is what is called internal struggle.
